: Auto maker Stellantis to offer buyouts to salaried, hourly workers

Stellantis NV STLA plans to offer buyouts to salaried and hourly employees, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing a memo to employees and a company’s spokesperson. The goal is to cut costs and fund its transitions to electric vehicles, the newspaper said. Stellantis’s brands include Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge and Fiat. Buyouts will be available for some salaried employees with at least 15 years of experience, and more details are expected to come next week, the report said. A company spokeswoman confirmed that buyouts will be offered to 31,000 hourly employees and 2,500 salaried workers in the U.S. and Canada, the report said.
