Anthem to become Elevance Health if shareholders approve the name change

Anthem Inc. told investors on Thursday it plans to change its name to Elevance Health Inc. if shareholders approve the change. The health insurer said the name change would better reflect the shifting nature of its business, though it does not plan to change the names of its Blue Cross Blue Shield health plans. Anthem’s stock has gained 40.5% over the past year, while the broader S&P 500 10.4%.
