: Synopsys deepens AI push with new tools

Synopsys Inc. SNPS is the latest tech company to deepen its dive into artificial intelligence. On Wednesday, the company launched Synopsys.ai, a suite of AI-driven solutions for design verification, testing and manufacturing of the most advanced digital and analog chips. Engineers can now, for the first time, use AI at every stage of chip design, from system architecture to design and manufacturing, and they can also access those solutions in the cloud, Synopsys Chief Executive Aart de Guess told MarketWatch. “The great promise is that it takes portions of the design process and automates those,” de Guess said. Renesas Electronics Corp. JP:6723, a leader in the automotive space, is already using Synopsys.ai to shave weeks off product-development times with enhanced silicon performance and cost reduction, he added. IBM Corp. IBM is another customer in Synopsys’ six-year AI push.
