: Robert Hur named as special counsel to review Biden’s handling of classified documents

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland on Thursday named Robert Hur as special counsel to investigate President Joe Biden’s handling of classified documents. Garland said in a news conference at the Justice Department that it’s in the “public interest” to appoint Hur special counsel. Garland’s announcement came after Biden’s aides found additional classified documents in a second location beyond those discovered in November at a Washington office Biden used after his vice presidency. Hur is a former DOJ official.
