: Covanta acquires Texas-based Circon Holdings

Waste-to-energy company Covanta said Monday it has acquired Circon Holdings Inc., a move it described as the “most transformative acquisition in its history.” No financial terms were disclosed. La Porte, Texas-based Circon has about 600 employees and 2,500 customers to whom it provides environmental services. “This acquisition is noteworthy for Covanta due to Circon’s geographic reach over multiple regions of the country and its suite of circularity offerings in wastewater treatment, and non-hazardous and hazardous waste management,” Covanta said in a statement. The deal is expected to double Covanta’s wastewater footprint and expand its engineered fuels business fivefold. Covanta was acquired by EQT Infrastructure in 2021.
