: White House pushes back after DeSantis questions U.S. support for Ukraine

A White House spokesman offered pushback on Tuesday when he was asked about criticism of the U.S. support for Ukraine from Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is expected to run for president. “For those who are worried about the cost that the support that we have provided Ukraine amounts to, we would encourage them to consider the cost in American blood and treasure should Mr. Putin succeed and continue to expand his goals,” said the spokesman, John Kirby, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who launched his country’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2021.
