: American Airlines former CEO Doug Parker to retire from board

American Airlines Group Inc. AAL on Thursday said that Doug Parker, the air carrier’s former chief executive, will retire from his position as chairman on April 30. Parker, who stepped down as CEO last year, will be replaced in the chairman role by Greg Smith, who joined American’s board in January 2022 following more than three decades at jet maker Boeing Co. BA, American said. Ray Robinson and Jim Albaugh will also retire from American’s board at the end of the current term, which coincides with the company’s yearly shareholder meeting, American said. Shares of the airline finished around 2% higher on Thursday.
