A white 18-year-old shot and killed 10 people at a Buffalo supermarket after researching the local demographics, with the purpose of killing as many Black people as possible, officials said Sunday. The suspect is alleged to be the author of a white-supremacist document that repeatedly referenced the “great replacement” theory, which falsely alleges that people of color — particularly immigrants — pose a political and cultural threat to white people.
