Shares of United Parcel Service Inc. fell 1.7% in afternoon trading toward a six-month low, putting them on track for the longest losing streak in more than four years. The package delivery giant’s stock has tumbled 15.7% over the past 10 sessions, all declines, which would be the longest stretch of losses since the 11-session losing streak that ended Feb. 12, 2018, according data compiled by Dow Jones Market Data group. The long losing streak comes during a time that the Dow Jones Transportation Average has underperformed its sister index, the Dow Jones Industrial Average , by a wide margin, which many Wall Street technicians see as a warning of a potential economic slowdown. The Dow transports have slumped 13.1% over the past 10 days, while the Dow industrials have slipped 2.9%.
