Stocks open lower, on track for worst month since March 2020

Stocks opened lower Friday, weighed down as shares of Amazon.com Inc. and Apple Inc. lost ground after quarterly updates. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 90 points, or 0.3%, at 33,826,leaving it on track for a 2.5% monthly fall. The S&P 500 was down 0.7% at 4,256, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.7% to 12,784. The S&P 500 was on track for a 6% fall in April, while the Nasdaq was off 10%, putting the indexes on track for their biggest monthly falls since March 2020.
