President Vladimir Putin said Friday that he had seen some progress in negotations with Ukraine, as the Russian invasion of that country stretches beyond two weeks. “There are certain positive shifts, negotiators on our side tell me,” Putin said in a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, adding that talks continued “practically on a daily basis”, according to media reports citing Interfax. U.S. stock futures rallied, with futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising more than 400 points, while gold prices fell about 1%.
