Biden, U.S. allies to unveil more sanctions on Russia, White House says

During his trip to Europe later this week, President Joe Biden will “join our partners in imposing further sanctions on Russia and tightening the existing sanctions to crack down on evasion and to ensure robust enforcement,” said Jake Sullivan, Biden’s national security adviser, during a Tuesday briefing for reporters. When asked for details, Sullivan said he would not “get ahead of an announcement, which will be rolled out in conjunction with our allies on Thursday, when the president has the opportunity to speak with them … on a further package of sanctions.”
