TRON‌ ‌4.0‌ ‌announces‌ ‌launch‌ ‌date:‌ ‌July‌ ‌7,‌ ‌2020‌

The upgrade is expected to transform TRON from “achieving smaller victories to being a sector leader and innovator” says CEO

TRON 4.0, one of the most anticipated upgrades of the year,  will be launched on July 7 — CEO of the Tron Foundation, Justin Sun, announced via Twitter on Saturday. The TRON 4.0 smart contracts privacy protocol is expected to bring the features of privacy, scalability and interoperability to the forefront of blockchain-based decentralized operating systems. The launch of ‘TRON 4.0 — the era of the Great Voyage’ will “signify the stunning transformation of TRON from being a blockchain-centered project to an industry trendsetter,” said an open letter from Justin Sun.

One of the key updates which the network will bring forth as a part of TRON 4.0 is a virtually developed smart contract privacy protocol. The TRONZ smart contract privacy protocol is not only “the safest, most productive, and energy-efficient privacy protocol at the moment,” but it also enables developers to choose protocols from a wide range of choices while still adhering to TRX compliant regulations.

Upgrades to the TPOS consensus mechanism, which will reduce the block confirmation time from 57 seconds to 3 seconds to improve the safety of the network, is yet another highlight of TRON 4.0. “These upgrades make TRON 4.0 stand out amongst all the other public chains,” Sun said.

In an attempt to encourage cross-chain communications, TRON 4.0 will introduce a brand new TICP cross-chain protocol. This means that three public chains will be available to connect with developers from across the world after the release of TRON 4.0.

The TRON main net has been developed to host enterprise-grade customised solutions for businesses. “We’ve successfully developed a financial institution and enterprise blockchain solution,” Sun explained. This will not only enable easier adoption of the blockchain system but the blockchain-based solutions will also reduce the time and costs required for projects.

The TRON 4.0 upgrade is ready to go live after almost a year of announcing the beginning of development. It will mark the first time that a smart-contract powered blockchain will implement zk-SNARKs.

Clarifying doubts regarding the fate of TRX transactions after the upgrade, a blog by the developers at TRON stated that “TRON has been working steadily on developing a safe public chain in compliance with global regulations and policies. Therefore, the TRON 4.0 upgrade will not make TRX anonymous in any way, nor will it have added privacy features.”

The TRON 4.0 upgrade acts as a starting point for the platform’s journey, both as an individual and a business-friendly platform. Sun added, “TRON 4.0 is not only the manifestation of the TRON “Decentralize the Web” vision but also the building of financial infrastructure for the next generation.”
